Flocking Together: Learning from Geese and Hebrews

SPRING tIME THOUGHTS

With the geese honking their way north, I am reminded of Hebrews 10:25: “We ought to see how each of us may best arouse others to love and active goodness, not staying away from our meetings, as some do, but rather encouraging one another, all the more because you see the Day drawing near.”

I am sure we have learned in school, as geese fly in ‘V’ formation.  Once the leader tires, another takes the lead and the exhausted one falls back in formation to ride in the draft.

Also, geese mate for life, and when one falls ill or is injured, the spouse and at least one other flies to the ground to support and protect them until they find restoration, or pass away.  Then, and only then do they fly back into companionship of their beloved gaggle,

May all of our church families take note of the way of the geese.
